The officers of the Tangier Judicial Police, in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), successfully arrested three individuals aged between 29 and 46 years, on suspicion of being involved in a large-scale theft from a jewelry store in the Beni Makada area of Tangier.
The police launched an investigation, supported by forensic experts, on the morning of Friday, April 11, after the discovery of the heist, which was carried out by creating a hole in the wall of a neighboring building. This allowed the thieves to break into the store and steal a significant amount of jewelry. According to initial reports, a large quantity of gold jewelry was stolen during the incident.
Intensive investigations led to the identification of the primary suspect, who was arrested upon his return from Casablanca. A search of his residence in Tangier resulted in the discovery of a large haul of stolen goods, amounting to approximately ten kilograms of gold. Authorities also found a sum of money believed to be the proceeds from the sale of part of the stolen jewelry.
The investigation did not stop there. Two accomplices were also apprehended, including the owner of the vehicle used in the commission of the crime.
The suspects have been placed under judicial custody, under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor, in order to determine all the details surrounding the crime and conduct a thorough investigation into the full scope of the operation.
