Agricultural Revolution Kicks Off in Meknes: Crédit Agricole du Maroc and ‘TURBA’ Join Forces to Save the Land and Support Farmers

In a bold step toward promoting sustainable agriculture, Crédit Agricole du Maroc signed a strategic partnership agreement on Thursday, April 24, 2025, with ‘TURBA’, a subsidiary of the innovation platform INNOVX. The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM), held in Meknes, in the presence of Mohamed Sadiki, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, and Mohamed Fikrat, Chairman of the Board of Crédit Agricole du Maroc.

This partnership aims to promote regenerative farming practices by supporting farmers with tailored financial solutions to acquire direct seeding equipment—a cutting-edge technique central to carbon farming. This method plays a key role in improving carbon balance on farms and preserving soil health.

The initiative is part of the “Istidama” (Sustainability) program, launched by Crédit Agricole du Maroc to lay the groundwork for sustainable agriculture. It mobilizes key players in the agricultural sector by providing financial and technical support to facilitate the transition toward responsible and economically viable farming practices.

This collaboration marks a significant step for Crédit Agricole du Maroc in strengthening its role as a financial driver of transformation in the national agricultural system—especially in the field of resource-conserving agriculture, which focuses on direct seeding, crop rotation, and smart plant residue management. These practices contribute to improved soil productivity, reduced erosion, and more efficient water usage.

Through this agreement, Crédit Agricole du Maroc reaffirms its ongoing commitment to supporting Morocco’s new agricultural model—rooted in sustainability and innovation. The initiative is set to foster balanced, inclusive development that promotes social and financial integration in rural areas, and enhances the resilience of agriculture in the face of climate change.
