Salé Police Arrest Taxi Driver Who Used Tramway Tracks and Obstructed Traffic

Salé – The police services of the Regional Security in Salé city managed yesterday, Tuesday, April 8th, to arrest a second-class taxi driver who appeared in a video recording driving on the dedicated track of the Rabat-Salé tramway, thereby obstructing public transport and endangering the safety of road users.

Security sources reported that the National Security’s cyber-monitoring services had detected the circulation of a video clip on social media platforms documenting two drivers, one of whom was a small taxi driver, using the tramway tracks illegally. Immediately, the police launched their investigations, which resulted in the identification and arrest of the first driver involved.

The sources added that the violating driver has been subjected to judicial investigation measures under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. This investigation aims to uncover all the circumstances surrounding this behavior that endangers the safety of road users.

The sources confirmed that investigations are still underway to identify the second driver who appeared in the video clip, with the aim of arresting him and subjecting him to the necessary judicial investigation procedures as well. This operation comes within the framework of the security services’ commitment to enforcing the law and ensuring the safety of traffic and public transport.
