On Friday, March 21, judicial police officers in Marrakech arrested a 35-year-old man with a criminal record on suspicion of possessing and trafficking drugs and psychotropic substances. The arrest was based on precise intelligence provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DST).
The suspect was apprehended while driving a cargo transport truck in a coordinated field operation with the Royal Gendarmerie in the Tamansourt area, on the outskirts of Marrakech. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 14,185 ecstasy pills in his possession.
Further searches conducted at the suspect’s residence in Marrakech resulted in the seizure of an additional 6,000 prescription narcotic pills, bringing the total number of confiscated psychotropic pills in this operation to 20,185.
The suspect has been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover all circumstances surrounding the case and identify any potential links to broader criminal networks.
