On Thursday, March 20, the Rabat Security Directorate opened a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to investigate the circumstances surrounding the display of a toy gun by a diplomatic vehicle driver during a dispute over right of way.
Security services had received a complaint from a taxi driver, accusing the diplomatic vehicle driver of verbal abuse and insults, which led to the display of the toy gun in a threatening manner.
The investigation and inquiries led to the identification of the accused, a Moroccan citizen working as a driver for a foreign diplomatic mission in Rabat, and the toy gun was found in his possession.
Due to the need for further investigation, the accused driver was placed under judicial detention to uncover all the circumstances and details surrounding the case.
