The General Delegation for Prison Administration Expands the ‘Ziara’ Digital Platform to Facilitate Family Visits

The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration has announced the nationwide rollout of the digital platform Ziara across all prison institutions in Morocco, starting from March 10, 2025. This follows the successful pilot phase conducted at Ain Sebaa Prison Complex in Casablanca.

According to a statement from the delegation, this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to modernize prison administration and enhance governance within correctional facilities. The platform aims to streamline family visits, reduce overcrowding, and minimize long waiting times. It enables visitors to book appointments in advance, access visit guidelines, and review required documents. Additionally, it paves the way for future services, such as remote purchasing options.

To ensure the project’s success, training sessions have been provided for staff responsible for operating the system, and all prison facilities have been equipped with the necessary logistical tools. Awareness campaigns targeting inmates and visitors have also been launched, featuring direct communication and informational posters about the platform and its services.

This project results from a collaborative effort between the General Delegation for Prison Administration and the Digital Development Agency. The latter was responsible for designing and developing the platform in accordance with the latest technical standards to ensure smooth and efficient use, while also providing continuous technical support and staff training.

The delegation emphasized the platform’s crucial role in improving visitor reception conditions and ensuring that inmates receive family visits in an organized manner. It also urged families of inmates to utilize the new system for scheduling visits via the following link:
