Heavy Rainfall and Snowfall in Ifrane Revive Nature and Raise Hopes for a Promising Winter Season

Several regions across Morocco, particularly Ifrane and the surrounding mountainous areas, are witnessing significant rainfall and snowfall, revitalizing nature and rekindling hopes for a prosperous winter season after a period of relative drought. These winter conditions have added a picturesque charm to the highlands, as peaks and valleys are now blanketed in a stunning white layer, attracting visitors eager to experience the beauty of nature in its finest form.

Despite the breathtaking scenery, the weather conditions have posed logistical challenges, especially concerning infrastructure and road safety. Some key roads have faced transportation difficulties due to accumulated snow and low temperatures, prompting urgent intervention from the relevant authorities to ensure the safety of travelers.

In response, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Equipment and Water has mobilized field teams and specialized machinery to clear snow and secure vital roadways. These include:
National Road No. 13 (linking Azrou and Aït Oufella via Timahdite)
National Road No. 8 (connecting Imouzzer to Ifrane)
National Road No. 707
National Road No. 7231 (leading to Michlifen and Jebel Habri)

🔹 Abdelilah Azmi, the regional director of equipment and water in Ifrane, confirmed these efforts, emphasizing the priority of keeping main routes accessible and safe.

With continued rainfall and snowfall, local authorities are urging drivers to remain cautious, particularly in high-altitude areas prone to sudden weather changes. Meanwhile, emergency teams remain on standby to maintain smooth traffic flow and prevent potential risks associated with the ongoing weather fluctuations.
