Last Thursday, the first forum on promoting the tourism sector in the Boulemane province was held under the theme “Boulemane Province: Promising Tourism Potential.” The event aimed to develop this vital sector and achieve economic and social development. It brought together official representatives and investors to discuss the challenges and opportunities for enhancing tourism in the region.
In his opening speech, the Governor of Boulemane Province, Allal El Baz, emphasized the importance of tourism as a key driver for job creation and strengthening the local economy. He highlighted that the region boasts rich natural resources that remain underutilized, calling for greater efforts in marketing and development. He added that the forum seeks to find practical solutions through collaboration between the public and private sectors to overcome obstacles preventing the full realization of the province’s tourism potential.
Amjad Kiti, Director of the Economic Development Hub at the Regional Investment Center of Fes-Meknes, pointed out that the province faces challenges related to accommodation capacity, as it currently has only a limited number of hotels and tourist lodges. He explained that several projects are underway to enhance tourism infrastructure, such as developing a wellness resort at the “Rmaila” spring, establishing camping areas and handicraft activity zones, and improving water resources.
Similarly, Mohcine Serghini, Head of the Social Affairs Department at the Boulemane Provincial Administration, stressed the importance of this forum in identifying the key challenges facing tourism and focusing on possible solutions that will contribute to making the province a more attractive tourist destination.
At the conclusion of the forum, Abdellah El Mounii, Regional Tourism Delegate in Fes, expressed his support for the initiative, which provides an opportunity to foster dialogue between professionals and investors. He described such events as an important step toward improving the quality of tourism services and strengthening interest in the sector.
