As part of ongoing security efforts to combat drug trafficking and the distribution of psychotropic substances, police officers from the Regional Security of Nador, in coordination with their counterparts in Oujda and based on precise intelligence provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), successfully dismantled a criminal network involved in the trafficking of illegal prescription drugs and contraband substances that pose a serious threat to public health.

Seizures and Arrests

These security operations, conducted on the evening of Thursday, February 27, led to the arrest of an individual in Nador in possession of 1,160 narcotic pills, which he was about to distribute. A vehicle suspected of being used for drug transportation and distribution was also seized.

On Friday afternoon, police in Oujda arrested two brothers involved in the same criminal activities. They were caught red-handed in possession of:
✅ 1,423 psychotropic pills of various types
✅ 3 kilograms of hashish (shira)
✅ Medication used in illegal abortion procedures

Ongoing Investigation

The detainees have been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, aiming to uncover the full details of the case and determine potential national and international connections of this criminal network. These efforts are part of Morocco’s continuous crackdown on drug trafficking, ensuring public safety and protecting citizens from the dangers of illegal substances.
