On Wednesday, February 19, police officers in Casablanca’s Ain Chaq security area arrested seven people suspected of being involved in a riot that involved throwing stones, endangering the lives and safety of road users.
The details of the incident date back to a tip-off that a group of people were throwing stones and eggs at a road crossing on the outskirts of the city, in a reckless behavior that poses a danger to citizens.
The immediate intervention of the police officers resulted in the arrest of seven people who were traveling in a four-wheel-drive vehicle and another one whose driver fled, shortly after the incident.
The arrested persons were subjected to judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, to uncover all the circumstances of the incident and determine the real motives behind the commission of these acts, while research and investigations continue to arrest the rest of those involved.
