Fes: Awareness Seminar on Measles “Bouhmroun” Organized by Parents’ Association and Regional Health Delegation

Recently, Al Quaraouiyine Preparatory High School in Fes hosted an awareness and communication seminar on measles, locally known as “Bouhmroun.” This seminar was organized by the National Confederation of Associations of Mothers, Fathers, and Guardians of Students in Morocco – Fes Regional Branch, in coordination with the Regional Delegation of Health and Social Protection in Fes, and under the supervision of the Regional Directorate of Education and Training. The event aimed to raise awareness about the disease, its complications, and prevention methods, with a particular focus on the importance of vaccination as an effective means to curb its spread.

This seminar was part of the national campaign aimed at ensuring children under the age of 18 are vaccinated against measles and other deadly diseases targeted by the National Immunization Program. The event witnessed significant interaction from the participants, who numbered around 60 individuals, including representatives from parents’ associations, members of the local community, as well as representatives from health and educational authorities.

During the seminar, a detailed explanation was provided about the nature of measles, its symptoms, and its serious complications, emphasizing that vaccination remains the most effective means of prevention. The organizers also highlighted that achieving individual and collective immunity requires broad cooperation from all stakeholders, including families, educational institutions, and health authorities.

The participants expressed their appreciation for the valuable information they gained during the seminar, affirming their readiness to engage in efforts to ensure the success of the national vaccination campaign. They also stressed the importance of such awareness initiatives in enhancing public health awareness and contributing to the eradication of infectious diseases, particularly measles.

It is worth noting that this seminar is part of ongoing efforts to promote public health and prevent diseases, especially in light of the health challenges facing communities. Such initiatives are expected to contribute to achieving the goals of the National Immunization Program and fostering a healthier and safer society.
