Meknes Hosts Informative Session on Special Learning Disorders and Inclusive Education Strategy

As part of ongoing efforts to implement the National Inclusive Education Program, the Regional Directorate for National Education, Pre-school Education, and Sports in Meknes organized an awareness-raising meeting on “Special Learning Disorders: Strategy for Detection and School Integration” on Friday, January 24, 2025.

The meeting took place in the Directorate’s conference hall and was led by a regional team specializing in inclusive education, including Mr. Hicham Halim, Head of the Regional Inclusive Education Department, Mr. Abdelhak Ayyash, Regional Inspector for Inclusive Education, and Mr. Abdelwahid Khiyari, Academy Mediator, along with specialists Ms. Maryam Aznak, Speech Therapist, and Dr. Hasnaa Rtal Benani, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.

The goal of the meeting was to strengthen the implementation of the National Inclusive Education Program, which is part of the 2022-2026 roadmap, particularly the structural program No. 13 concerning the “Network of Inclusive Schools.” The session aimed to improve the quantitative and qualitative indicators of the program, contributing to the integration of students with special learning disorders into the educational system.

The meeting opened with a speech by Mr. Mohamed Klil, the Regional Director of the Ministry, who highlighted the importance of this session in the context of efforts to achieve inclusive education goals. He stressed the need for ongoing collaboration among all stakeholders to reach the desired outcomes within the framework of the program.

The regional team then presented detailed presentations on the key components of the inclusive education program, focusing on the strategy for detecting special learning disorders and how to address the needs of affected students. The discussions emphasized the importance of early detection and accurate diagnosis of these cases to ensure appropriate support and guidance through suitable pedagogical practices.

The meeting was attended by a large number of educational supervisors, members of the regional inclusive education committee, directors of public and private inclusive schools, and supervisors of resource rooms for rehabilitation and support.

The session concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the specialists in recognition of their significant contributions to raising awareness about special learning disorders and providing proper support for affected students.
