In a move that reinforces green investment dynamics in Morocco, a strategic memorandum of understanding was signed on the sidelines of the 18th edition of the International Agriculture Show in Morocco (SIAM 2026). The agreement brings together Credit Agricole du Maroc (CAM) and the Italian institution Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), with the aim of financing sustainable projects with economic and environmental impact.

The agreement was signed in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Ahmed El Bouari, with both parties emphasizing the importance of this partnership in supporting structured projects and strengthening economic cooperation between Morocco and Italy.

According to available information, the partnership seeks to establish a framework for identifying and financing joint projects within Morocco, with a focus on high value-added initiatives, particularly in agriculture and agri-food industries, contributing to enhanced food security.

The cooperation also extends to other strategic sectors, including renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, and natural resource management, as part of a broader orientation toward supporting the green economy and achieving sustainable development.

This partnership is expected to foster the development of innovative financing mechanisms with positive environmental and social impact, while creating opportunities for collaboration between Moroccan and Italian companies. It will also promote knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and access to new markets.

According to the same sources, the agreement highlights the central role played by Credit Agricole du Maroc in financing the agricultural sector and supporting the transition toward more sustainable and resilient production models in the face of climate and economic challenges.

This development comes within the context of Morocco’s accelerating national strategy to boost investment in green projects, reinforcing its position as a regional leader in sustainable development.
