An EasyJet flight traveling from Agadir, Morocco to Glasgow, Scotland was forced to make an emergency landing in Faro, Portugal on Tuesday, December 10, due to a disruptive passenger’s behavior.
Flight EZY3176 departed from Agadir-Al Massira Airport at 8:27 PM, but just one hour into the flight, the crew faced an issue with a passenger described by other travelers as “drunk” and “abusive”. According to eyewitnesses, the passenger was spitting and acting aggressively, prompting multiple warnings from the flight crew.
Upon landing in Faro, local police intervened and removed the disruptive passenger from the aircraft. Subsequently, the flight resumed its journey to Glasgow, where it landed at 12:54 AM – only three minutes later than its scheduled arrival time.
An EasyJet spokesperson confirmed the company’s seriousness in dealing with such incidents, noting that the flight crew is trained to assess all situations and act quickly to protect the safety of the flight and its passengers. He added that while such incidents are rare, the company has zero tolerance for disruptive behavior on its aircraft.
