In the early hours of yesterday morning, the residents of Douar Ifrawa were shaken by a powerful explosion caused by the detonation of an electrical transformer located in the heart of the village. The incident triggered widespread panic among the locals, especially as it is not the first of its kind; a similar event occurred nearly five years ago.
While the explosion, thankfully, did not result in any casualties, it caused limited material damage, including the burning of several olive trees surrounding the transformer.
The aftermath has left the village in a state of near paralysis, with electricity and communication services completely disrupted, isolating the community from the outside world.
Residents are urgently calling on the relevant authorities to repair the damages and implement preventative measures to ensure their safety and prevent such hazardous incidents from recurring in the future.
