As part of the national campaign to raise awareness about the importance of prenatal care, the regional delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Taounate organized a health caravan for pregnant women on Thursday, April 17, 2025, in the village of Ba Mohamed, starting at 10 AM.
This initiative was carried out in partnership with the National Initiative for Human Development, in coordination with local and regional authorities, and in collaboration with the National Social Cohesion Agency and the Ba Mohamed Municipal Council, under the supervision of the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection in the Fès-Meknès region.
The caravan was part of the national campaign launched by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, which runs from April 7 to May 8, 2025, under the slogan: “We expedite and complete prenatal visits to maintain the health of mothers and children.”
The health caravan provided a variety of medical services to nearly 600 women, who benefited from general check-ups, diabetes and high blood pressure screenings, prenatal care, and early detection of breast and cervical cancer. Awareness workshops were also held, focusing on the importance of prenatal care and maternal and child health.
This initiative aims to strengthen the achievements in reproductive health, improve healthcare services for pregnant women, reduce maternal and infant mortality rates, and raise awareness about the critical first thousand days in a child’s life, which are essential for building healthy generations.
It is worth noting that the next stop of this health campaign will be held in the city of Tissa on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
