Fez, November 11, 2024 – As part of the celebration of the 49th anniversary of the Green March and the World Elder’s Day, a group of charitable associations and community organizations organized a medical campaign for underprivileged elderly people in the Jini Dokarate neighborhood of the city.
This medical campaign saw the participation of:
- Association of Ambassadors of Goodness for the Elderly and Retirees
- Network of Rural People for Development and Governance of the Fez-Meknes region
- The Light Association to Assist Pharmacists
- The Mercy Association for Diabetes
This initiative was carried out in partnership with the Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
During this campaign, comprehensive medical examinations were performed for the beneficiary elderly, including blood pressure measurement, diabetes screening, and early detection of chronic diseases. The participating associations also provided medical advice and health tips to the elderly.
One of the campaign organizers stated: “We are happy to organize this initiative to support the underprivileged elderly in this neighborhood. This campaign is a small step but of great importance to improve the health and social care for this vulnerable group in society.”
He added: “We hope that this campaign will be a model to be emulated to promote social solidarity and cohesion towards the elderly in various parts of the Kingdom.”
