Digital Content Observatory Reveals: Fake Videos Fueling Controversy Over Ceuta Breach Attempts

The Digital Content Observatory has reported that some videos recently circulated on social media regarding attempts by Moroccan youth to breach the borders of the occupied city of Ceuta are, in fact, fake or old clips from other locations. The most prominent of these videos is a clip dating back to 2019 from Indonesia, which was reposted in the context of the false mass migration as if documenting the events of September 15, 2024.

This digital fabrication came at a sensitive time when Morocco is witnessing an escalation of tensions regarding irregular migration, contributing to a state of panic and security alert. As a result, security agencies have taken proactive measures to ensure security and stability in border areas.

The Digital Content Observatory has called for caution in dealing with content disseminated online, emphasizing the importance of verifying the accuracy of information before sharing it.
