In a sad event that shook Morocco, the official spokesperson of the Royal Palace announced on Saturday evening, 29 June 2024, the death of Princess Lalla Latifa, the mother of King Mohammed VI.
Following this painful news, Prince Moulay Hisham, the King’s cousin, published a message of condolences on his official Facebook account, addressed to the royal family, headed by King Mohammed VI.
The message read: “I received with deep sadness the news of the death of Princess Lalla Latifa. On this sad occasion, I extend my sincere condolences to her family, especially to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to Princesses Lalla Meryem, Lalla Asmaa, Lalla Hasnaa and Prince Moulay Rachid, as well as to her grandchildren and other family members.”
Prince Moulay Hicham added in his message: “I pray that God will grant them patience and solace in the face of this loss, and that he will have mercy on the deceased and grant her eternal rest.”
The condolences come in the context of Morocco’s deep sadness following the passing of Princess Lalla Latifa, who was highly respected and appreciated in official and popular circles.
