Elements of the Casablanca Provincial Judicial Police Department, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGTS), managed on Wednesday to thwart an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of Shira drug, amounting to 3 tons and 382 kilograms, while two suspects suspected of involvement in a criminal network active in cross-border drug smuggling were also arrested.
According to a statement by the General Directorate of National Security, the two suspects were arrested on the highway in Mohammedia, where 93 bundles of the drug were seized in two cars, with a total weight of 93 kilograms.
The two suspects were placed under preventive custody by order of the Public Prosecution, to continue investigations and verify the rest of those involved in this criminal activity.
This security operation comes within the framework of the continuous and intensive efforts made by the security authorities to combat the international trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, in cooperation between the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance.
