1st Rabia al-Thani 1448 in Morocco.. Sunday, September 13, First Day of the Month After Crescent Moon Sighting

Morocco – The Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs announced that the first day of the month of Rabia al-Thani in the year 1448 AH will fall on Sunday, September 13, 2026, after the sighting of the crescent moon was not confirmed on the evening of Friday, September 11, corresponding to 29 Rabia al-Awwal.

In a statement, the ministry explained that the observation of the crescent moon for the month of Rabia al-Thani did not confirm its sighting on Friday evening, meaning that the month of Rabia al-Awwal will be completed to 30 days.

Accordingly, Sunday, September 13, 2026, will be the first day of Rabia al-Thani 1448 AH in Morocco.

The announcement follows the crescent moon observation operation conducted on Friday evening, in accordance with the procedure adopted to determine the beginnings of the Hijri months in the Kingdom.

Coinciding with the beginning of the new Hijri month, the ministry’s statement included a prayer for His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, the members of the Royal Family, the Moroccan people, and the entire Islamic Ummah.

Maroc – Le ministère des Habous et des Affaires islamiques a annoncé que le premier jour du mois de Rabia al-Thani de l’année 1448 de l’Hégire correspondra au dimanche 13 septembre 2026, après que l’observation du croissant lunaire n’a pas été confirmée dans la soirée du vendredi 11 septembre, correspondant au 29 Rabia al-Awwal.

Dans un communiqué, le ministère a précisé que l’observation du croissant du mois de Rabia al-Thani n’avait pas confirmé sa visibilité dans la soirée de vendredi, ce qui signifie que le mois de Rabia al-Awwal sera complété à 30 jours.

En conséquence, le dimanche 13 septembre 2026 sera le premier jour de Rabia al-Thani 1448 de l’Hégire au Maroc.

Cette annonce intervient à l’issue de l’opération d’observation du croissant lunaire menée vendredi soir, conformément à la procédure adoptée pour déterminer le début des mois hégiriens dans le Royaume.

À l’occasion de l’avènement du nouveau mois hégirien, le communiqué du ministère comprenait une prière en faveur de Sa Majesté le Roi Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Mouminine, de Son Altesse Royale le Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan, de Son Altesse Royale le Prince Moulay Rachid, des membres de la Famille Royale, ainsi que du peuple marocain et de l’ensemble de la Oumma islamique.
