Democratic Federation of Labour – Fes Condemnation Statement

The local office of the Democratic Federation of Labour (FDT) in Fes expresses deep concern and strong condemnation regarding the brutal physical assaults, verbal abuse, and systematic intimidation directed at the sanitation workers of Fes 1. Such acts constitute a blatant violation of the law and a flagrant assault on human dignity.

These disgraceful attacks are a cowardly retaliation against the workers’ rightful decision to affiliate with the Democratic Federation of Labour — a home for dignity and democracy. This responsible step aims at defending their rights and achievements. We affirm that the voice of the free working class will neither be intimidated nor silenced, and that all attempts to suppress their rights will only strengthen their resolve to continue their legitimate struggle.

Accordingly, the local union office:

  1. Strongly condemns the physical and psychological attacks against the sanitation workers of Fes 1.
  2. Expresses absolute and unconditional solidarity with the fighters of this vital sector.
  3. Holds the responsible authorities fully accountable for protecting the workers and ensuring their physical and psychological safety, safeguarding their rights and union freedoms.
  4. Calls upon public opinion, trade unions, and civil society activists to support this struggling group and to stand up against all forms of repression and intimidation.

The Democratic Federation of Labour remains the voice of the free working class, a bastion for the defense of dignity and rights, and a stronghold for the struggle for freedom and social justice.

Issued by the Local Union Office.
