Rabat, August 26, 2025 – As part of its continuous advocacy for Moroccan civil pensioners, the Civil Pensioners’ Body has addressed an open memorandum to the Head of Government. The memorandum highlights the most pressing demands and urgent needs of this group, considering the current dynamic social and human rights landscape.
In its memorandum, the body emphasized the importance of regular social dialogue between the government, central trade unions, and pensioners. It noted that this group, despite facing increasing hardships in dealing with the costs of living and the needs of post-retirement life, remains committed to a constructive and responsible dialogue.
The memorandum stressed several key demands, including:
- An immediate and fair increase in all pensions, taking into account the continuous rise in the cost of living, with special attention given to those with low pensions.
- Separating the issue of pension system reform from these urgent demands, as reforms may take many years while pensioners suffer daily.
- Accelerating pension system reform in a positive manner that preserves current gains and ensures an improved standard of living for pensioners and their beneficiaries.
- Revising and raising the minimum pension to be in line with the high cost of living and continuous inflation.
The body expressed its hope for a positive response from the government, especially given the urgent need to implement these legitimate demands, which pensioners and their beneficiaries have been waiting for as soon as possible.
In conclusion, the body conveyed its respect and appreciation for the Head of Government, urging him to take these demands into consideration and take the necessary action.
