Union Condemns Mismanagement in the Health Sector in Moulay Yacoub and Calls for Investigation and Accountability

The regional office of the National Union of Public Health Workers, a founding member of the Democratic Federation of Labor, held an emergency meeting on Friday, May 23, 2025, to assess the current situation in the province of Moulay Yacoub.

According to available information, the union concluded that healthcare workers in the province are being subjected to a series of abuses in the management of key professional matters. These issues include irregularities in transfer procedures, the distribution of administrative positions, and delays or denials of financial entitlements related to health programs and essential professional documentation.

As a result, the regional office has decided to take several actions, including:

  • Expressing full solidarity with healthcare workers in the province and working to address the harm caused by these practices.
  • Denouncing what it described as unfair and biased management practices by the provincial health delegation.
  • Calling on the Ministry of Health to send an investigative committee to examine these abuses and take appropriate action.
  • Affirming support for all protest steps decided by the union’s provincial office and participating actively in them.
  • Calling for a protest to be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in front of the Provincial Health Delegation in Moulay Yacoub.

The regional office also reaffirmed its commitment to continuously follow up on the issues affecting healthcare workers across the region and to defend their rights.

In conclusion, the union called for stronger solidarity among all health professionals to face current and future challenges, stressing that the struggle to secure healthcare workers’ legitimate rights will continue until all demands are met.
