An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck the Ouezzane province on Monday night, February 10, 2025, at 23:48. The epicenter was located in the Brikcha commune, about 15 kilometers from Ksar El Kebir, at a depth of 20 kilometers.
Despite the strength of the tremor, which was felt by residents of several Moroccan cities, including Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Fez, and even Marrakech, local authorities have confirmed that no damage has been recorded to road infrastructure or water installations.
Nasser Jabour, an expert at the National Institute of Geophysics, explained that this earthquake is considered an isolated tremor in an area known for its intermittent seismic activity.
