The case of Rajaoua fan Youssef Bajaj is back. The public prosecution refers the file to the judicial police for further investigation!

The public prosecution at the Casablanca Court of Appeal has decided to reopen the death of Rajaoua fan Youssef Bajaj, and to transfer it to the National Judicial Police Squad for further investigation, according to his mother.

The incident dates back to September 8, 2021, when Youssef was on his way to a meeting of the “Green Boys” faction supporting Raja Sports Club, while leaving, he was riding a motorcycle with his friend without wearing a helmet, which led to their pursuit by the “Falcons” security personnel, the chase ended in the tramway, where Youssef fell and sustained injuries that led to his death.

The public prosecution decided to close the case after investigations did not prove any legal offense by the security officers, which angered his family and prompted the Green Boys faction to launch a wide campaign under the hashtag “Justice for Youssef.” The Green Boys faction launched a large campaign under the hashtag “Justice for Youssef.”

For its part, the General Directorate of National Security confirmed in a previous statement that it dealt seriously with the case, noting that the judicial investigation did not prove any legal violation by the security personnel.

Youssef’s mother announced in a Facebook post that the National Squad listened to her, but refrained from revealing the details of the investigation out of respect for its confidentiality, and confirmed in previous statements that the surveillance cameras that documented the incident were not turned on, as stated in the official records.

The decision to reopen the investigation restores hope of uncovering the circumstances of the incident, pending the outcome of the new investigations.
