CESE Organizes Communication Meeting on the Importance of Shipbuilding for Strengthening Morocco’s Maritime Fleet

The Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) held a communication meeting addressing the topic of shipbuilding and maintenance and its importance in forming a strong Moroccan maritime fleet. This initiative follows the recommendations made in the royal speech on the 48th anniversary of the Green March.

The Ministry of Equipment, Transport, and Logistics is currently conducting a comprehensive study to formulate a national strategy aimed at strengthening Morocco’s commercial fleet.

The strategy focuses on the development of shipbuilding and maintenance, including both fishing vessels and large commercial ships.

During the meeting, the current state of the maritime industry in Morocco was assessed, revealing several challenges hindering its development.

These include the need to improve infrastructure at major ports such as Casablanca and Agadir, as well as the necessity of providing proper training for human resources working in the sector.

These efforts aim to enhance Morocco’s competitiveness in the shipbuilding industry and keep pace with global developments in this vital sector, contributing to the country’s economic growth.
