The General Directorate of Meteorology in Morocco issued a weather alert today, Saturday, warning of heavy thunderstorms in several provinces of the kingdom.
According to the warning bulletin, which was classified as orange on the vigilance scale, the expected thunderstorms will range in intensity between 15 and 30 mm. These rains are likely to be accompanied by hail and strong wind gusts.
The directorate explained that these weather phenomena will begin from 2:00 PM and continue until 10:00 PM, affecting the following areas:
- Errachidia
- Midelt
- Boulemane
- Guercif
- Jerada
- Taourirt
- Oujda-Angad
- Berkane
The General Directorate of Meteorology urges citizens in these areas to exercise caution and follow the preventive guidelines issued by the competent authorities, given the potential risks these weather fluctuations may cause.
Drivers are also advised to be cautious while driving due to reduced visibility and the risk of skidding on wet roads.
The directorate confirms that it will continue to closely monitor the weather conditions and issue updates if any changes occur.
