Warning: Severe Heat Wave Sweeps Across Several Regions in Morocco

The General Directorate of Meteorology in Morocco has issued an orange-level alert warning of a strong heat wave expected in many provinces of the kingdom from Tuesday to Friday, with temperatures forecasted to range between 42 and 47 degrees Celsius.

According to the bulletin, the following provinces will experience temperatures ranging from 42 to 46 degrees Celsius from Tuesday to Friday: Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Saleh, Guercif, Taounate, Taza, Settat, and Khouribga.

The Directorate also indicated that temperatures will range between 43 and 47 degrees Celsius from Wednesday to Friday in the provinces of Marrakech, Rehamna, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Aousserd, Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Tata, and Taroudant.

Concerned authorities are urging citizens to exercise caution and take necessary measures to prevent the effects of high temperatures, especially for the elderly, children, and people with chronic illnesses. They also advise avoiding direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours and drinking adequate amounts of water.

This warning comes at a time when the kingdom is experiencing recurring heat waves, necessitating continuous vigilance by both authorities and citizens to deal with these exceptional climatic conditions.
