In a new move towards resolving the crisis in the health sector, the National Union Coordination for the Health Sector sent a letter to the Prime Minister on July 20, 2024, inquiring about the government’s response to the proposals submitted to implement the health sector agreement.
The letter indicated that the Union Coordination had submitted its responses to the government’s proposals to the Minister of Health about a week ago, specifically on Friday, July 12, 2024, as a reply to what the government proposed to address the demands file of healthcare workers.
The Union Coordination confirmed that it is awaiting the government’s response and its compliance with the legitimate demands contained in the agreement and minutes signed with the unions, both in their legal/statutory and shared material aspects.
The letter emphasized the importance of doing justice to healthcare workers, motivating them, and reassuring them about their future. This is to ensure their engagement in the health system reform project and to overcome the ongoing state of significant tension that the health sector is experiencing.
The Union Coordination concluded its letter by stressing the importance of responding to these demands to provide necessary health services to citizens, while awaiting a positive response from the Prime Minister on these urgent issues.
The letter reflects the ongoing negotiations and efforts to improve conditions in the health sector, highlighting the critical role of healthcare workers in the reform process and the provision of essential services to the public.
