Investigations reveal widespread corruption in Fez: A list of the names of the accused, their verdicts and the charges for which they were convicted

The Fez Court of Appeal, in the case known as File No. 32/2024, which involves several members of the Fez Community Council, handed down the following judgements:

The defendants are in detention:

Islam Fadlallah: Five years imprisonment and a fine of 20,000 dirhams.

Boussiri Abdelkader (former parliamentarian): Eight years imprisonment and a fine of 20,000 dirhams.

Drago Mohamed: One year in prison and a fine of 20,000 dirhams.

Fidas Lahcen: Three years imprisonment.

Benboubaker Anouar: Three years imprisonment.

The defendants are at liberty:

El Hayel Omar: four months imprisonment and a fine of 2,000 dirhams.

Charef Imad: Four months in prison and a fine of 5,000 dirhams.

Ahmed Aghzidis: Two years imprisonment and a fine of 20,000 dirhams.

Al Alami Noureddine: Two years in prison and a fine of 20,000 dirhams.

El Sobhi Mustapha: Five months imprisonment and a fine of 5,000 dirhams.

Ahmed Farsi: Ten months imprisonment and a fine of 10,000 dirhams.

Abdessalam El Bakkali (Mayor of Fez): Six months imprisonment and a fine of 10,000 dirhams.

Sofiane Idrissi (Clerk of the Council): Six months in prison and a fine of 10,000 dirhams.

Mohamed Messer: Three months’ imprisonment and a fine of 1000 dirhams.

Charges brought:

Bribery.

Using a forged official document.

Participation in the misappropriation of public funds.

Exploitation of influence.

Embezzlement.

Receiving a benefit in a public organisation.

Disclosure of professional secrets.

Forgery in official and administrative documents.

Using forged documents.

Failure to report a criminal offence.
