Moroccan authorities have arrested French drug dealer Mohamed Amin Y, also known as DZ, at the request of the French judiciary, in preparation for his extradition to France.
According to information reported by BFMTV, DZ, who is considered a major drug trafficker in the Parisian region, was arrested on 14 February in Marrakech. He is currently in detention awaiting extradition to France.
DZ, also known as ‘Coloche’, is 36 years old and was the subject of a European Arrest Warrant issued in March 2023 and an INTERPOL Red Notice. In October and December 2023, he was sentenced in absentia to prison terms of 8 and 5 years, respectively, for his involvement in a case involving the importation of one tonne of cannabis powder.
Once extradited to France, DZ will face trial in another case. According to a source from BFMTV, ‘This promoter was previously sentenced in July 2011 for drug trafficking. He is suspected of laundering part of his profits by buying property in the city of Argenteuil.”
The arrest of this prominent drug trafficking figure comes within the framework of judicial cooperation between Morocco and France to combat transnational organised crime.
