Nine members of the disciplinary committee of the African Football Confederation are coming together to punish the Algerian club, Union Sportive de la Médina d’Alger, after canceling their match against Renaissance Sportive de Berkane in the semi-finals of the CAF Cup. The disciplinary committee, which is part of the Confederation of African Football, consists of nine members. The committee is led by South African Raymond Hack as the president, along with Yusuf Ali from the Comoros, Mustafa Samugabu from Burundi, Issa Massa from Burkina Faso, Pedro Neto from Angola, Alphonse Niema from Benin, Badji Monbo from the Congo, Souadato Clacaba from Cameroon, and Bobcar Karamako Koulibaly from Mali.
The CAF disciplinary committee will review the match officials’ reports in order to punish Union Sportive de la Médina d’Alger. It is expected that the punishment will include a two-year ban from participating in continental competitions, along with a hefty fine. Additionally, a financial penalty will be imposed on the Algerian Football Federation.
