The Confederation of African Football called on the Algerian authorities to release the RS Berkane shirts, stressing the team’s right to play in them during the USM match.
CAF requested the Algerian Football Federation to take all necessary measures to facilitate the urgent release of the relevant equipment from customs to avoid disrupting the organizational aspects of the match.
The president of the Algerian Federation said after Nahdet Berkane was detained at the airport: “We expect the match to take place under normal conditions, God willing.”
Nahdet Berkane players had conducted a session to remove fatigue in the middle of the “Houari Boumediene” airport after they were prevented from leaving by the Algerian authorities, and the team’s shirts approved by CAF were seized, which included a map of the entire Kingdom of Morocco with its southern provinces.
A number of Moroccan football clubs announced their complete and unconditional solidarity with the RS Berkane team.
