Meknès – The Provincial Human Development Committee (CPDH) of the Prefecture of Meknès approved 65 new projects and operations during its second meeting for 2026, as part of the Provincial Human Development Plan, with a total budget exceeding MAD 8.21 million. The initiative aims to strengthen social and economic inclusion and support the target groups of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH).
The meeting, held on Wednesday, July 8, at the headquarters of the Prefecture of Meknès, was chaired by the Governor of Meknès Prefecture, Abdelghani Sbbar, in the presence of members of the Provincial Human Development Committee and the heads of local committees. The session was dedicated to reviewing additional projects and operations proposed for inclusion in the 2026 Provincial Plan under the second, third, and fourth programs of the INDH.
After the projects were presented by the Head of the Social Action Division and discussed in terms of their relevance and expected impact on the targeted groups, the committee approved all the proposals. The National Initiative for Human Development allocated a contribution of MAD 7.20 million, representing approximately 87.7% of the total cost, benefiting 560 beneficiaries.
Under the second program, dedicated to supporting people in vulnerable situations, one project and one operation were approved with a total budget of MAD 480,000, fully financed by the INDH, benefiting 160 beneficiaries.
The third program, aimed at improving income and promoting the economic integration of young people through entrepreneurship support, income-generating activities, and employability enhancement, received the largest share. A total of 62 projects and operations were approved, with an overall budget of approximately MAD 6.98 million, of which the INDH will finance 85.6%, benefiting 240 beneficiaries.
As for the fourth program, which focuses on strengthening the human capital of younger generations, one project was approved to support schooling and enhance children’s and young people’s openness and skills. It has a budget of MAD 750,000, fully financed by the INDH, and targets 160 beneficiaries.
The approval of these projects is part of the continued implementation of the National Initiative for Human Development programs at the provincial level, with the objective of improving local development indicators, supporting vulnerable populations, enhancing the economic and social integration of young people, and investing in human capital development.
