Washington – Les États-Unis et la République islamique d’Iran sont parvenus à un accord prévoyant un cessez-le-feu temporaire de deux semaines, en échange de la réouverture complète et sécurisée du détroit d’Ormuz, peu avant l’expiration d’un ultimatum fixé par l’administration américaine.
Washington – The United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran have reached an agreement for a temporary two-week ceasefire in exchange for the full and secure reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, just before a deadline set by the U.S. administration.

Cet accord intervient après plus de cinq semaines de frappes militaires visant l’Iran, dans un contexte de forte escalade régionale. Téhéran a annoncé que des négociations directes avec Washington débuteront vendredi à Islamabad, au Pakistan, sous médiation pakistanaise.
The agreement comes after more than five weeks of military strikes targeting Iran amid heightened regional tensions. Tehran announced that direct negotiations with Washington will begin Friday in Islamabad, Pakistan, under Pakistani mediation.

De son côté, l’Iran a confirmé son engagement à rouvrir le détroit d’Ormuz pendant deux semaines, sous condition de cessation des attaques, tout en se déclarant prêt à entamer des négociations avec les États-Unis durant cette période, avec possibilité de prolongation par accord mutuel.
For its part, Iran confirmed its commitment to reopening the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks, provided attacks cease, and expressed readiness to enter negotiations with the United States during that period, with a possibility of extension by mutual agreement.
