Taza moves ahead of Ramadan with a strict plan to control prices and protect purchasing power

Les services de la province de Taza ont entamé la mise en œuvre d’un programme d’action de terrain impliquant les commissions provinciales et locales mixtes, visant à intensifier les opérations de contrôle dans les différents points de vente en gros et au détail, ainsi que dans les marchés hebdomadaires, dans le cadre des préparatifs anticipés pour l’accueil du mois sacré de Ramadan 1447 H.

The provincial services of Taza have launched the implementation of a field action program involving mixed provincial and local committees, aimed at intensifying inspection tours across wholesale and retail outlets as well as weekly markets, as part of early preparations for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH.

Selon les informations disponibles, ces inspections portent sur le suivi des prix et de la qualité des food products, ainsi que sur la vérification de the availability of supplies and the regular flow of essential goods most in demand during the holy month, alongside monitoring safety and validity conditions and compliance with state-regulated and subsidized prices.

Ce programme fait suite à une réunion de coordination présidée par le gouverneur de la province, Rachid Benchikhi, consacrée à l’examen des arrangements organisationnels et logistiques liés à market supply and price control, in line with the High Royal Directives aimed at protecting citizens’ purchasing power and ensuring supply stability, and in keeping with the recommendations of the interministerial committee for vigilance and market supply and price monitoring.

This program follows a coordination meeting chaired by the provincial governor, Rachid Benchikhi, dedicated to reviewing organizational and logistical arrangements related to market supply and price control, in line with the High Royal Directives aimed at safeguarding citizens’ purchasing power and ensuring supply stability, and in accordance with the recommendations of the interministerial committee for vigilance and monitoring of market supply and prices.

Dans ce cadre, les commissions de contrôle veilleront au respect de l’affichage des prix et à la protection des droits des consommateurs, tout en luttant fermement contre les pratiques illégales, notamment la spéculation, l’accaparement, le stockage clandestin, la fraude et la manipulation des prix, ainsi que la limitation du phénomène de multiplicité des intermédiaires.

In this context, inspection committees will ensure compliance with price display requirements and the protection of consumer rights, while firmly combating illegal practices such as speculation, hoarding, clandestine storage, fraud, and price manipulation, as well as limiting the phenomenon of multiple intermediaries.

Parallèlement aux mesures répressives, une approche communicationnelle et de sensibilisation devrait être adoptée à travers l’organisation de campagnes au profit des professionnels, des consommateurs et des associations de protection des consommateurs, afin d’encourager l’adoption de responsible and civic commercial behaviors that ensure a smooth and orderly Ramadan period.

Alongside enforcement measures, a communication and awareness-raising approach is expected through the organization of campaigns targeting professionals, consumers, and consumer protection associations, with the aim of encouraging responsible and civic commercial practices that ensure Ramadan unfolds under appropriate conditions.

Afin d’assurer un suivi continu et une intervention rapide, une duty unit will be set up at the level of the provincial administration in the coming period, along with the activation of the toll-free number 5757, enabling citizens and stakeholders to report any violations related to prices or illegal commercial practices. Complaints received will be processed in coordination with the relevant services, and appropriate measures will be taken accordingly.

To ensure continuous monitoring and rapid response, an on-call unit will be established at the provincial administration level in the coming period, alongside the activation of the toll-free number 5757, allowing citizens and stakeholders to report any violations related to prices or illegal commercial practices. Reported complaints will be handled in coordination with the competent services, and appropriate measures will be taken.
