Bouiblane – Special Report

With heavy snowfall hitting the Bouiblane area (Taza Province – Middle Atlas Mountains) for several days, and forecasts predicting rain and snow continuing until next Wednesday, thousands of visitors from Fes, Meknes, Taza, Sefrou, Oujda, and other cities are flocking to enjoy the stunning scenery and pristine snow.
Here is the safest and best guide to reach Bouiblane currently (based on the latest field update on Monday, December 8, 2025):

1. Highly Recommended Route (The Most Beautiful and Safest Currently)

From Rabat Al Kheir → Adraj → Tafjight → Talzemt → Tizi Bouzabel → Ain Lazz → Bouiblane

  • Distance: approx. 75 km
  • Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours max
  • Road condition: 85% paved – only 15 km of easy dirt road (no problem even for regular cars)
  • Features: Few gentle curves, stunning panoramic views, entering Bouiblane from the back (avoids main entrance congestion)
Strongly recommended for all vehicles – including small cars

2. Classic National Road (Beautiful but Longer with More Curves)

From Taza → Ras Al Ma → Al Anzar → Mghrâwa → Timrghout → Bouiblane

  • Distance: 106 km (National Road No. 29)
  • Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours
  • Road condition: Fully paved but very narrow in some sections + many sharp curves uphill
Excellent for returning from Bouiblane (enjoy panoramic views without fatigue)

3. Direct Mghrâwa Route (Not Recommended Currently)

Rabat Al Kheir → Souk El Arba → Mghrâwa → Bouiblane

  • Same issues as Route 1 from Mghrâwa to Bouiblane (curves + narrow road)

4. Tafert Road (Currently Closed Except for 4×4 Vehicles)

Rabat Al Kheir → Aghzran → Tizi Taskrine → Bouiblane

  • Shortest distance (65 km) but 35 km of very difficult dirt road covered with snow and mud
Not recommended at all unless you have an experienced 4×4 mountain vehicle
