Meknes: Launch of First Training Workshop on Rational Management of National Immunization Program with Participation of 61 Healthcare Workers

Meknes – November 11, 2025 – The proceedings of the first training workshop on “Effective Management of the National Immunization Program” began today, Tuesday, at Dar Al-Hakim Hall in Meknes, affiliated with the Medical Association, for the benefit of health professionals working in the field of vaccination at urban and rural health centers in Meknes Prefecture.

The workshop is jointly organized by the Population Directorate at the supervising Ministry, the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection for the Fez-Meknes region, and the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Meknes Prefecture, with support from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Official Opening and Emphasis on Importance of Continuous Training

Dr. Takrout Rachid, Delegate of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Meknes Prefecture, officially launched the workshop, emphasizing in his opening speech the crucial role of these training sessions in raising the competence of healthcare workers and enhancing the quality of vaccination services provided to citizens, especially children as a priority group.

The workshop is part of implementing the recommendations of the Global Evaluation of Vaccination (GEV), and aims to strengthen the capacities of nursing staff through theoretical and practical modules covering the technical and organizational aspects of vaccination operations.

Trainers and Beneficiaries

The session is led by:

  • Dr. Mohamed Khouchoua, a specialist in epidemiology and public health and head of the Health Institutions Network Service in Meknes.
  • Ms. Najia Terdioui, multidisciplinary nurse and provincial official for the National Immunization Program.

61 healthcare workers benefit from the training, distributed over two sessions:

  • First session: November 11 and 12, 2025.
  • Second session: November 13 and 14, 2025.

Positive Interaction and Promising Results on First Day

The first day witnessed positive interaction and active participation from beneficiaries, who expressed their satisfaction with the new knowledge and skills acquired, which will directly contribute to supporting the National Immunization Program and improving the quality of health services provided to the population of Meknes Prefecture, especially children as a main group in the national preventive program.
