Opening of Bab Laamer Garden in Fez on the Occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Victorious Green March

Fez – November 3, 2025 – On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the victorious Green March, Bab Laamer Garden, located on Moulay Ismail Street near Alaouyine Square in the city of Fez, will be opened to the public on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, starting at 6:00 PM. This opening is accompanied by an artistic ceremony commemorating this glorious national occasion, which embodies popular unity and collective will to complete the Kingdom’s territorial integrity.

Garden Details and Opening

Bab Laamer Garden represents an urban project aimed at enhancing green spaces in the heart of the old city, with a design that combines architectural heritage and environmental modernity.

The opening will witness official attendance from officials of the Fez Urban Municipality and local authorities, with participation of local artists in the artistic ceremony, which includes musical and folkloric performances reflecting the national spirit and authentic Moroccan culture.

Historical and Commemorative Context

This initiative comes within the framework of national celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Green March (November 6, 1975), which was led by the late His Majesty King Hassan II, may God rest his soul, with the participation of 350,000 volunteers to peacefully recover the Southern Provinces. The opening reflects the commitment of local authorities to immortalize this epic through development projects, linking heritage with sustainable development, according to the high Royal directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory, in strengthening territorial integrity and regional development.
