The Public Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Marrakech has categorically denied reports circulating in some media outlets about the death of a citizen during the events that took place in the Sidi Youssef Ben Ali area of Marrakech, confirming that these reports are unfounded.
The statement issued by the Public Prosecutor clarified that no deaths were recorded during the events in the area. It added that the incident mentioned in the statement issued by the Moroccan Association for Human Rights – Manara Branch Marrakech, and published on the electronic newspaper “Al-Marrakchi.com,” is completely unrelated to these events.
The statement further explained that the citizen in question was carrying out his work as a street vendor in Al-Mosalla Street when he suffered a sudden health problem on October 1, 2025, and collapsed beside his goods near the Koutoubia area, far from the protest site. He was immediately transferred to Al-Sharifa Hospital, where he arrived deceased.
The statement also noted that after the deceased’s father appeared before the Judicial Police and the Public Prosecutor’s office, he declared that he had no suspicions regarding the circumstances of his son’s death. A medical examination was performed on the body, which was then handed over to the family for burial.
The Public Prosecutor concluded by reaffirming that the death of the individual has no connection whatsoever to the events in the Sidi Youssef Ben Ali area, stressing that the reports in this regard are false.
