On Sunday, September 21, elements of the National Security at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca managed to arrest a 44-year-old French citizen of Turkish origin, who was subject to an international arrest warrant issued by the judicial authorities of France.
A statement from the General Directorate of National Security clarified that the individual’s identification process in the Interpol database revealed he was wanted internationally through a red notice issued at the request of the Central National Office in Paris. He is suspected of involvement in a criminal network engaged in fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, and committing financial and economic crimes.
The statement added that the suspect was subjected to extradition procedures in accordance with instructions from the competent public prosecution office, while the Interpol Rabat Central National Office notified its French counterpart of the arrest incident.
This arrest aligns with the commitment of Moroccan security services to strengthening international security cooperation, particularly in tracking and apprehending individuals wanted internationally and involved in transnational crimes.
