Police in Oulad Tayma Arrest Three Suspects in Break-In and Sorcery-Related Theft Case

Officers from the regional police station in Oulad Tayma successfully arrested three individuals, including a woman, aged 19, 22, and 45, on Monday afternoon, September 15, 2025, on suspicion of involvement in a theft case involving break-in and sorcery.

The suspects reportedly stole a significant amount of money by forcibly entering the home of a woman related to one of the suspects. The neighbors then surrounded them, and the suspects threw the stolen money from the rooftop, an incident captured on a video widely shared on social media.

Immediate police intervention led to the arrest of the two suspects as well as the female homeowner. Preliminary investigations revealed suspicions that the woman used her residence for sorcery practices under the guise of traditional physiotherapy, and that the stolen funds were proceeds from these criminal activities.

A search conducted uncovered liquids and chemical substances, photographs, tools and utensils used in sorcery, as well as cash exceeding 600,000 Moroccan dirhams in both local and foreign currency, believed to be gains from these illicit operations.

Two of the suspects have been placed under custody, while the third, the woman, is undergoing a judicial inquiry supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover all circumstances surrounding this case.
