The African Scout Organization successfully concluded the five-day Summer University for Youth on Friday, September 12, 2025, in Fès. The event was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication and the National Camping University under the slogan: “Scout Camp as a Space for Education, Excellence, and Preparing the Youth of Tomorrow’s Morocco.”
Five Days of Training and Interaction
The university focused on four main themes: digital innovation and content creation, volunteering and civil service, reinforcing citizenship and parallel diplomacy values, and culture and educational tourism. The workshops gathered a distinguished group of educational and academic staff, resulting in valuable knowledge production and training, as well as fostering dialogue and experience sharing between youth and their mentors.
Cultural and Educational Highlights
Participants toured the Batha Museum of Islamic Arts and the historic medina of Fès, gaining insight into the city’s rich cultural and human heritage. The event also featured a spiritual night with traditional Aissawa music, creating an atmosphere of harmony and serenity.
Commemorating a National Milestone and Honoring Figures
In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Green March, a symbolic moment highlighted the values of national unity. An honorary ceremony also recognized prominent figures, including Ismail Al-Hamrawi, Regional Director of Youth and Sports, camping department staff, and national and regional media outlets that covered the event.
Recommendations and Outcomes
The university concluded with key recommendations:
- Launch digital platforms to share training resources and youth experiences.
- Provide continuous training and leadership support programs for youth.
- Strengthen institutional and civil partnerships to support camping activities.
- Propose establishing a network for university alumni to enhance communication and continuity.
