A Citizen in Meknes Complains of Refusal to Complete Administrative Procedure Due to “End of Working Hours” at 3 PM

A female citizen in the city of Meknes filed a complaint stating that a civil status employee at one of the city’s administrative annexes refused to complete an urgent administrative procedure for her on Wednesday afternoon at exactly 3 PM, justifying the refusal by claiming that official working hours had ended.

According to the complaint, the citizen was in the process of completing the official registration of her daughter’s marriage, which is a necessary procedure to finalize her daughter’s file for joining her husband residing outside Morocco. She stated that she had provided all the required documents in stages, but upon returning to the office at the mentioned time, she was informed that she needed to return on another day.

This potential delay, according to the complainant, could obstruct other linked administrative procedures that have specific deadlines and concern members of the Moroccan community residing abroad.

The incident, as outlined in the complaint, raises questions about the commitment of some administrative offices to official working hours, which are set from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

It also highlights once again the importance of quality in citizen reception and the efficiency of administrative services provided, especially those related to the interests of Moroccans living abroad, which receive special attention in official directives.
