Coach of the Atlas Lions: “Advancing from the Group Stage Depends on Beating the Host Nation”
NAIROBI – Morocco’s national football team coach for local players, Tarik Sektioui, confirmed Saturday in Nairobi that his team aims to secure victory against Kenya in tomorrow’s match at Kasarani Stadium, part of Matchday 3 in Group A of the CHAN-2024 tournament.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Sektioui stated:
“Our primary objective is to advance beyond the group stage, and this requires defeating Kenya”, adding:
“We will confront the host nation with equal resolve and determination to claim the three points.”
The Moroccan coach cautioned about the challenge ahead:
“Kenya has delivered strong performances in previous matches, making this encounter difficult. We must give our utmost effort for the full 90 minutes to achieve a positive result”, emphasizing that

Commenting on the week-long rest after Morocco’s opening match against Angola, Sektioui noted:
