FEZ – Water supply was fully restored to several neighborhoods in Fez Prefecture early Saturday morning following emergency repairs to a critical failure in the main pipeline supplying the Ouled Tayeb reservoir. Service resumed at 3:00 AM, according to official sources.
The malfunction – caused by an unforeseen technical circumstance beyond authorities’ control – had disrupted water access to three areas: Upper Ouled Tayeb, Ouled Bouaibid Kwaz, and the Benzakour subdivision.
Repair operations involved a full mobilization of teams from the Fez-Meknes Multiservices Regional Company, supported by personnel from the National Office of Electricity and Potable Water (Production Division). This collaboration demonstrated effective partnership between the institutions.
Technically, crews replaced approximately 6 meters of the 400mm-diameter main pipeline as part of comprehensive repairs aimed at ensuring service continuity and quality.
The company’s management expressed gratitude to affected residents for their understanding and patience during the disruption. Special recognition was given to field teams who worked continuously, day and night, to complete repairs expediently and restore water access.
This swift resolution reflects ongoing efforts by the Fez-Meknes Multiservices Regional Company and its partners to maintain essential service stability and minimize disruption durations caused by technical emergencies.
