On Saturday evening, a state of alert was declared at a well-known shopping center in Fes following the incident of a shop door falling on a group of children who were accompanied by their families inside the center.
According to initial information obtained by the newspaper, the accident resulted in injuries of varying severity to three children, prompting the intervention of civil protection teams who urgently transported them to the emergency department at Hassan II University Hospital in Fes to receive necessary medical treatment.
Local authorities and national police, along with civil protection teams, arrived at the scene where the area was secured and an immediate investigation was launched to determine the circumstances and causes surrounding the incident, which caused panic among visitors.
The ongoing investigation is expected to shed light on the extent to which the shopping center complies with technical standards and safety regulations, particularly regarding the installation and securing of shop fronts and doors to ensure the safety of its patrons.
