According to statements by Mohamed Mehtadi, head of the provisional planning of the Fès–Taounate expressway, the contract for the third phase—covering a 19-kilometer stretch—has been awarded to the company Univers Bat, with a budget of approximately 324 million MAD.

Mehtadi added that the first phase of the project has reached around 85% completion, while the second phase is at 25%. The fourth and final phase is still under study.

The total budget for this major infrastructure project is approximately 1.56 billion MAD, funded through a partnership between the Ministry of Equipment and Water, the Fès-Meknès Regional Council, the Taounate Provincial Council, and the Agency for the Promotion and Development of the Northern Provinces.

The project, divided into four phases, will cover the full 73-kilometer stretch between Fès and Taounate. It is expected to significantly improve connectivity between the northern and central regions, enhance traffic safety, and reduce the high number of road accidents on this vital route.
