The Ministry of Interior has announced the organization of by-elections on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, to elect members of local councils in several provinces across the Kingdom of Morocco.
According to the decision published in the latest issue of the Official Gazette (No. 7409), these elections will cover 69 territorial municipalities distributed across 35 provinces and prefectures, aiming to fill more than 80 vacant seats in the communal councils.
The ministry has called on all prospective candidates to submit their individual candidacy declarations to the relevant local administrative authorities starting from Thursday, June 12, 2025, until midday on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
The election campaign is scheduled to begin at 1:00 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, and will continue until midnight on Monday, June 30, 2025.
These by-elections come as part of efforts to complete democratic representation at the local level, ensure the stability of communal councils, and enhance citizen participation in local governance.
